Today was a nice relaxing day after a long hard week at work. I wish I could be more productive and at least start baby steps in that direction. Hopefully this blog thread is a step in the right direction.

Anyways, it wasn’t that bad a day considering I got to watch a thriller of a match with Nadal winning by the narrowest of margins. It was supposed to be a walk in the park but due to some inspired play by Pablo Andujar it turned out to be a thriller. I still thought Nadal’s experience and mental toughness would take him through easily in the third set especially when he was a break up. However, Pablo broke back and even got a couple of match points that had me pacing across the room.

However, as mentioned probably many times in this blog, and even many more times while talking about him, following tennis as a big Nadal fan is one of the most inspiring activities. That inspiration not often translating into personal action is another matter.

Other than those thrilling three hours of tennis, I spent a couple of hours cooking both meals. I don’t often stress the therapeutic effects of cooking but on delving more into it – its almost like meditation because it allows me to get away from technology. No rush to browse internet or check my phone. I really need to get away from technology more and more – that is the key to higher productivity. Even if it means going outside and taking a walk.

Anyways, today’s happiest moment is a simple one – watching Nadal win a thriller.

100HappyDays – Day 5

Today has been a rough day – again had a heart-breaking chat. In addition, being late for a client meeting didn’t really help either.

Anyways, reading inspiring posts on Quora has been helpful. Driving alone and just soaking into my thoughts without any technological distractions had a calming effect as well. One interesting output was the discovery of the ‘be limitless’ app that would help track my browsing activity – a very exciting app. However, the most calming moment today has been listening to Aashiqui 2 songs on repeat for a long time while driving as well as at home. ‘Tum hi ho’ and ‘Sun raha hai na’ songs touch the right chords in my heart.

100HappyDays – Day 4

With life hitting rock bottom these days, it is indeed difficult to identify rays of hope. I continually think of the rejections from business schools, of the burning desire to leave ZS, of my drastically failing health and fitness levels, and most of the times of the lost love. So when I get a message from her, it has an incredible mix of pain and soothing effect. However, her messages still keep my heart beating.

Today it was heart-wrenching watching an episode of Shameless and understanding the major misunderstanding between Lip and Fiona. At the same time, watching a young girl cry after performing amazingly well in figure skating, was a happy moment and I desperately want her to win the gold.

However, during my daily grind, it was really nice to just remember the conversation I had with an old lady who lives right next to my apartment. She was so warm and nice and gave full attention to me. Today’s cheers to happy memories that make you drag through another long day at work and keeps you motivated enough.

Considering the tough times my heart has been dealing with, it is not easy to find comfort in the broader goals in life – job, career, higher education dreams and most importantly, the need of a loved one. However, these are the times when I have to gladly take comfort in finding happiness in the smaller, supposedly meaningless, moments in life. Hopefully, this chain of 100HappyDays would help me uncover those happy moments.

For today, I felt happy reading the Quora post on the nicest things people have done for mostly strangers. It was incredibly heart-warming and I wish I could make even an iota of similar difference in someone’s life. Anyways, below is the link

Day 1: Playing with my nephews (Adi and Ansh). Their innocent smile and unbridled love is heart-warming!
